WOW.. WHERE DO WE START!?!? In November 2012 Malta Music Awards "Best International Male Artist" winner, Peter Andre, embarked on his 31 date 2012/2013 Up Close and Personal Tour across the UK. Starting the sell-out tour in smaller venues from the 16th November 2012, he then took the tour to some of the UK's largest and most popular concert venues, such as The O2 Arena in London and then finishing the tour in his home town at The Brighton Centre on the 1st February 2013. We loved the concert so much that we went three times.. London, Nottingham and Brighton!

Anybody who believes that Peter Andre is a just one hit wonder is wrong and would be pleasantly surprised by his ability to put on a fantastic, entertaining live show. After Peters three support acts The Rise, The Risk and Sam Gray performed and warmed up the crowd, Peter finally took to stage and started the show off by bursting onto the stage top of a block surrounded by his all male dancers as he performed the upbeat song Ignition from his latest album Angels and Demons. This dance tune really brought the audience to life as they sang and danced along with him!
Now the atmosphere in the arena was electric and Peter treated fans to a new unreleased song 'Beast' which he started off singing before doing a magic trick which he was taught by magicians in the Magic Circle and made him disappear off stage, leaving a backdrop of Peter continuing the song. In a new change of clothes, Peter then returns to the stage to perform another upbeat lively song from his latest album.. Don't Give Up, using an umbrella as a prop to protect him as the sparks coming down whilst he was dancing.

Next came four songs from Peters previous top10 album, Accelerate. He started this section with his popular single Perfect Night, this ended with thousands of beautiful red petals falling down into the crowd. Peters dancers then had their time to shine as they all showed off their talent in Under My Skin before Peter joined them on stage in his 007 James Bond style outfit, showing them they're not the only ones who can dance. Then came one of his previous chart hits Defender which definitely allowed him to become 'Up Close And Personal' and interact with the audience as Peter had a small camera which he pointed at the audience to make their faces appear in large on the screen behind him. This was followed by XLR8, an upbeat track which features a rap from J2K (Roll Deep), who even made a special appearance at the O2 Arena concert! Carrying on the 'Up Close And Personal' theme, Peter invited one lucky competition winner for an intimate moment on stage with him! Peter serenaded her with a cover of the beautiful Bee Gees classic How Deep Is Your Love - which was also a tribute to BeeGee's member and Peters late friend Robin Gibb. Next up came Fly Away, one of Peters favorite songs from his new album and a dedication to his girlfriend Emily MacDonagh, This song really shows of Peters fantastic vocal ability.

Now time for the super fun part... the Reggae section! It consisted of four songs which Peter sung in his adorable blue tracksuit, this section really got the audience up and dancing, with such a positive happy vibe flowing through the arena. First was a cover of the well known Big Mountain's 'Baby I Love Your Way' immediately followed by a song that spreaded the love and unity... Bob Marley's 'One Love'.. Peter and his dancers then engaged the audience AGAIN, when each of them taught a section of the audience a dance move to do during the song everybody had been waiting for.. MYSTERIOUS GIRL! - At the O2 Arena show, there was even a special appearance from Bubbla Ranx.. The audience went WILD! After this came the reggae track from Angels And Demons, Make Her Mine.. remixed especially for the tour to have even more of a bashment feel to it.. This song is expected to be released later this year as Peters next single from the album, remixed and with the one and only shaggy putting his touch to it!
Peter then calmed down and really focused on his vocals vocals by singing (in our opinion) one of the most beautiful songs ever written, Imagine by John Lennon, at some of the venues, Peter even braved the crowd by appearing at to back of the arena to then walk all the way through the crowds until he got safely back on stage. Peter showed he is not the only the talented one in his family, as his brother Chris played instruments for the next two songs.. whilst he showed his appreciation for the support from his fans by singing Thank You, then followed by one of Peters most emotional meaningful songs Unconditional.

A Bad Name' performance
Pop songs, reggae songs, ballads.. what next!? ROCK SECTION! In true rockstar style, Peter donned a leather jacket as he covered the legendary You Give Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi which made the audience want to completely rock out along with him, then followed Peters 2009 comeback single Behind Closed Doors which reached an impressive #4 in the UK singles chart, The song has a lot of meaning to Peter and is based on his previous experiences, he said of the song on stage "if you know this song, i want you to sing along, but if you don't, i want you to listen to the lyrics because this, is my story".
As the show comes to a close, Peter sang the promotional song from his new album, Bad As You Are (Not sang at every venue), then as Peter pretended to say his goodbye's and left the stage, the audience realised what was going on.. it was time for an encore! As the whole venue chanted "Peter, Peter , Peter" he ran back on stage to perform What A Girl, his 80's inspired hit with a modern twist. Peter then said his real goodbye's and thank you's, as streamers fell down.. the night literally ended with a bang at every venue as it ended with some kind of firework explosion bang, which was definitely not for the faint hearted.. we certainly jumped out of our seats!
Peter is constantly developing as a musician and performer, this concert definitely didn't let us down and we're so proud of him! We would like to show respect and appreciation to Peter for being strong carrying on his tour after facing the heartache of losing his brother, who then got to watch the concert from heaven. Rest In Peace Andrew Andre, thank you for inspiring, you will never ever be forgotten. xx
We really do recommend you see him live, look out for future dates on his website here. Thank you for reading, we hope you enjoyed.. lots of love, Katie and Adele xxxxxx
